About The Position

Welocalize is seeking a Linguistic QA Tester/Proofreader in Hebrew. This is a 100% onsite position in Austin, TX, and is a W-2 role eligible for benefits based on hours worked. The role involves testing a wide range of internally and externally facing applications and tools. We are looking for a candidate with a background in Marketing, Journalism, Copy Editing, Writing, and/or Localization. The tester will conduct test cases, identify localization bugs, report them via an internal bug tracking system, and verify fixes once implemented.

Requirements

Native-level fluency in Hebrew (grammar, vocabulary, composition, punctuation).
Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Experience working in translation.
Tech savvy, with experience testing web-based systems and applications on Mac OS X and iOS.
Ability to prioritize linguistic issues and distinguish between a true must-fix and a nice-to-have.
Experience working with test cases and test scripts.
Experience with bug tracking systems.
Ability to clearly articulate reproduction steps for a given issue and communicate critical information.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work with very diverse teams.
Flexibility to work during non-business hours, weekends, and national/federal holidays.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong team ethic.
Must have a valid visa to work in the USA.

Nice To Haves

Background in Marketing, Journalism, Copy Editing, Writing and/or Localization.

Responsibilities

Proofreading and editing content already localized to your native language.
Catching errors in content such as grammar, typos, syntax, punctuation, capitalization, political incorrectness, inconsistencies, and extra spaces.
Translating content from English to your native language.
Checking UIs for functional issues.
Conducting test cases.
Identifying localization bugs.
Reporting bugs via an internal bug tracking system.
Verifying fixes once implemented.
