About The Position

The Linguist/Targeter will use Mandarin language skills, cultural knowledge, targeting experience, and technical understanding to collect and analyze publicly available internet data and present findings to the government sponsor. The role requires translating Mandarin into English in both written and spoken contexts, providing timely and concise feedback and analysis, and preparing findings that require minimal editing in the sponsor’s system. The position is onsite five days per week, with flexibility around onsite hours. A TS clearance with SCI eligibility is required; the employer will sponsor the SCI portion needed for this clearance.

Requirements

• Fluency in Mandarin, including the ability to translate Mandarin to English in written and spoken contexts.
• High-level Mandarin reading and writing skills.
• Familiarity with Mandarin/Chinese culture.
• TS clearance with SCI eligibility; the employer will sponsor the SCI portion needed for this clearance.
• Experience supporting cyber activities and targeting experience.
• Ability to use an array of targeting tools.
• Experience assimilating and evaluating large amounts of data.
• Strong analytic writing and briefing skills.
• Technical understanding of how software, databases, web servers, and the internet work.

Responsibilities

• Translate Mandarin into English in written and spoken contexts.
• Provide timely, concise, and accurate feedback and analysis to the sponsor, and present data and findings as needed.
• Collect data from the public internet and present it to the government.
• Draft and coordinate data and findings for entry into the sponsor system, requiring minimal editing.
• Assist in preparing responses to senior-level tasking and requirements.
• Support cyber activities using targeting experience and an array of targeting tools.
• Assimilate and evaluate large amounts of data.
• Prepare strong analytic writing and briefings.
