Linen Tech - PT (6:30am-2:30pm) CMC
About The Position
Atlantic Health Chilton Medical Center is seeking a Part-Time Linen Tech (Environmental Services). The role involves washing, drying, ironing, and folding linen and uniforms, inspecting and sorting received linen, removing clean and soiled linen from patient areas, loading carts for delivery, and maintaining linen room cleanliness. The position also requires informing the Environmental Services Supervisor of any damaged or missing linen, delivering linens to user locations, setting up housekeeping schedules, and maintaining logs for linen closets. The Linen Tech will perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the cleanest and safest healthcare environment.
Requirements
- HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Must be able to bend/push/pull/lift 50lbs.
Nice To Haves
- 1-3 years' experience as Linen Tech or relevant area preferred.
- Prior experience working in a Health Care Facility, Hospital System or relevant area preferred.
Responsibilities
- Washes, dries, irons, and folds linen and uniforms as required.
- Inspects and sorts linen as it is received from laundry and records and returns rejects to laundry.
- Removes clean linen from laundry carts and places in designated areas.
- Loads carts for delivery.
- Removes soiled linen from patient floors.
- Informs Environmental Services Supervisor on any damaged or missing linen from laundry.
- Delivers linens to all user locations.
- Sets up charts for housekeeping schedules, and carts daily as needed.
- Maintains log for linen closets, documenting unused linen and reporting any apparent discrepancy between established standards and actual usage.
- Maintains linen room in a clean and orderly condition.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
