About The Position
Corewell Troy Hospital is seeking a Linen Distribution Supervisor to manage linen distribution within the hospital. This role involves reporting to the Regional Distribution Manager and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of clean linen to all hospital units. The supervisor will also be responsible for building and counting carts, maintaining inventory records, managing staff schedules, and supervising linen staff. Additionally, the position requires collecting soiled linen, ordering linen, and communicating with the laundry plant.
Requirements
- Must have reliable transportation
- Strong Microsoft/ computer skills
- H.S. diploma or equivalent required
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
- This is a customer facing position, good communication and customer service is necessary
- Able to take and follow directions
- Stand for extended periods of time
- Physically able to stand, lift (up to 50lbs. without assistance), push, pull, bend, kneel, twist, and move carts on wheels (up to 600+ lbs.) throughout the day
- Willing and able to collect and lift soiled bags throughout the facility
- Able to complete duties accurately and quickly
- Must be able to read and write English and accurately perform simple mathematics
- Will be required to observe all safety guidelines and recommendations
- Vaccinations may be required by the hospital
Responsibilities
- Reports to the Regional Distribution Manager
- Delivers clean linen carts to all units within a hospital setting
- Builds carts for the following day
- Maintains inventory records
- Counts and packs carts accurately with the needed quantities
- Fills out paperwork accurately
- Correctly uses handheld device and uploads information
- Keeps work area/linen room clean and places additional empty carts in their proper place
- Creates and manages staff schedules
- Supervises linen staff
- Collects soiled linen from designated areas and set times
- Accomplishes daily tasks within time frame given by Management
- Orders linen and communicates with the laundry plant
