About The Position
Corewell Royal Oak Hospital is seeking a Linen Distribution Supervisor to join their team. This role is responsible for delivering clean linen carts to hospital units, managing inventory, building carts for the following day, and ensuring accurate record-keeping. The supervisor will also create and manage staff schedules, oversee linen staff, collect soiled linen, and order linen supplies. This position requires strong computer skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and excellent customer service.
Requirements
- Must have reliable transportation
- Strong Microsoft/ computer skills
- H.S. diploma or equivalent required
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
- This is a customer facing position, good communication and customer service is necessary
- Able to take and follow directions
- Stand for extended periods of time
- Physically able to stand, lift (up to 50lbs. without assistance), push, pull, bend, kneel, twist, and move carts on wheels (up to 600+ lbs.) throughout the day
- Willing and able to collect and lift soiled bags throughout the facility
- Able to complete duties accurately and quickly
- Must be able to read and write English and accurately perform simple mathematics
- Will be required to observe all safety guidelines and recommendations
- Vaccinations may be required by the hospital
Responsibilities
- Reports to the Linen Manager
- Delivers clean linen carts to all units within a hospital setting
- Builds carts for the following day
- Maintains inventory records
- Count and pack carts accurately with the needed quantities
- Fill out paperwork accurately
- Correctly use handheld device and upload information
- Keep work area/linen room clean and place additional empty carts in their proper place
- Creates and manages staff schedules
- Supervises linen staff
- Collect soiled linen from designated areas and set times
- Accomplish daily tasks within time frame given by Management
- Order linen orders and communicate with the laundry plant
