About The Position

This position is responsible for managing the linen distribution services within a hospital setting. The Linen Tech Manager will oversee daily operations, including the planning and scheduling of linen workflow, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and managing staff. Key duties involve maintaining records, coordinating with hospital departments, and ensuring efficient delivery and collection of linens. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, and physical capability to handle the demands of the job.

  • This is a customer facing position, good communication and customer service is a must

  • Ability to use knowledge, skills & experience of a working environment to meet established goals and objectives
  • Physically able to stand for long periods of time, lift (up to 50lbs. independently), push, pull, bend, kneel, twist, and move carts on wheels (up to 600+ lbs.) throughout the day
  • Willing and able to collect and lift soiled bags throughout the facility
  • Must be able to read and write English and accurately perform simple mathematics
  • Will be required to understand and observe all safety guidelines and recommendations

Nice To Haves

  • Up to 1 yr. of management experience preferred
  • Vaccinations may be required by the hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Regional Distribution Manager
  • Assigns duties and delegates distribution staff as necessary
  • Maintains records for department attendance, production efficiencies, and linen tracking
  • Plans and schedules receiving, recording, distribution, and collection of workflow
  • Performs general and spot inspections of laundered articles to ensure compliance
  • Contacts hospital departments to obtain feedback and information regarding linen services
  • Participates in linen committees as necessary
  • Assists in interviewing new employees and directs their orientation and training
  • Provides services as needed to departments with special requirements
  • Reports overuse, abuse, or misuse of linens, with recommended actions to management and hospital contacts
  • Covers for distribution personnel due to absenteeism, vacation, or sick leave to meet facility needs
  • Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership
  • Delivers clean linen carts to all units
  • Builds carts for the following day
  • Counts and packs carts accurately with needed quantities
  • Fills out all necessary paperwork accurately
  • Collects soiled linen from designated areas at set times
  • Accomplishes daily tasks at the time given by Management
  • Submits linen orders and communicates with CSM with any needs
  • Oversees housekeeping and general cleanliness of the linen room and associated work areas
