About The Position

Under general supervision, this position supervises as well as performs (as needed) a variety of tasks related to distribution, pick-up and management of hospital and off-site linen and other supplies. The position is responsible for managing overall daily operations of the Linen and Laundry operation ensuring quality controls are in place and managing customer service inquiries or issues. Responsible for other Materials Management delivery and/or supply tasks required. Able to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions and perform simple arithmetic calculations. Provides operational reports as needed. Understands core clinical workflows, processes, and interdependencies. Research trends and best practices in relation to healthcare application software.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2-4 years supervisory experience in a related field.
• Able to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions and perform simple arithmetic calculations.
• Understands core clinical workflows, processes, and interdependencies.

Nice To Haves

• Associates Degree preferred.
• Research trends and best practices in relation to healthcare application software.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the linen area.
• Ensures linen is clean and organized in accordance with established procedures.
• Must be able to operate all Storeroom equipment safely and correctly.
• Oversee the loading of carts and place accurately as requested.
• Oversee in getting filled linen carts to designated areas.
• Ensure linen and laundry supplies are ordered and controlled in line with Business and Events.
• Receive records and oversee sorting of clean linen ensuring they are arranged properly on the floors and on the racks in the linen room.
• Keep and update the laundry / linen productivity report on a daily basis and provide to the Data manager monthly for KPI monitoring.
• Attends and participates in in-service education classes, on-the-job training programs, etc.
• Recommends any equipment or linen purchasing needs to Department Head in budget preparation.
• Manage customer service issues quickly and effectively.
• Train, develop, and review the laundry/linen team throughout the fiscal year.
• Assist in the recruitment and selection of laundry/linen personnel as needed.
• Assign schedules and duties to linen staff as per business needs; assists in determining staffing requirements necessary to meet the Organizational needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned and able to carry out any other related tasks as per the Distribution Services Manager.
