About The Position

The Linen Services Specialist restocks linen carts on assigned routes within designated time frames, counts linen accurately, maintains carts and work areas, and delivers carts and soiled linen to designated locations. The role requires safe and professional handling of large bins and carts, reporting linen shortages and issues, and covering other assigned areas or campuses as needed. The position is full time, on the day shift, with a schedule of 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

Requirements

Able to communicate in English.
Ability to count quickly and accurately.
Basic computer skills.
Dependability.

Linen distribution experience.
High school graduation or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Restock linen carts on assigned routes within the assigned time frame using approved linen distribution equipment, accurately counting linen items.
Remove foreign items and linen that is torn, unfolded, or soiled from carts.
Check and change reject linen bags and ensure an adequate supply of soiled linen bag boxes is available in each cart.
Straighten remaining linen in preparation for restocking.
Patrol the work area, pick up strings and dropped linen, and place them in proper containers.
Deliver empty linen carts to designated areas.
Report linen shortages and issues to the supervisor when requested or when identified by clinical staff or hospital management.
When assigned, collect and handle soiled linen bags and deliver them to designated areas in a timely and professional manner.
Maneuver large bins and linen carts safely and professionally.
Adjust to staff shortages and cover other assigned areas or campuses while maintaining departmental and hospital standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
