About The Position

Western Pacific Enterprises is seeking an experienced Red Seal Journeyperson Powerline Technician for a highly specialized role in the Lower Mainland. This is not a general PLT position. It requires a very specific mix of field expertise, strong communication skills, and a high level of comfort with computers and administrative work. The role will be paid at the IBEW 258 subforeman rate. The successful individual will be name requested through IBEW 258. Company Overview Since 1973, Western Pacific Enterprises, Ltd. Requirements

  • Red Seal Journeyperson Powerline Technician
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract
  • Ability to successfully pass BC Hydro security screening, including a criminal record check

Responsibilities

  • Proven experience operating a Ford F 550 bucket truck with insulated 37 ft boom
  • Physically fit to work in all conditions, including use of a 40 ft stick overhead to install and retrieve ammeters on energized 25 kV overhead lines from the ground
  • Strong computer skills, including consistent use of a laptop and smartphone, job related applications, electronic reporting, and document control
  • Clear, professional communication skills, written, spoken, and electronic
  • Ability to work closely with and take direction from BC Hydro security team members
  • Safety first mindset at all times
