About The Position

This role involves packing boxes of finished goods, specifically food-grade disposable liners for quick-serve restaurants and convenience stores. The position requires rotating through different stations on the production line. The pay rate is $19.25 per hour, with an additional $1.50 per hour shift premium once the rotating schedule begins. The work schedule is a rotating pattern of 2 days on, 2 days off; 3 days on, 2 days off; 2 days on, then 3 days off, repeating. This results in a schedule with 48 hours one week and 36 hours the next.

Requirements

  • No prior experience or training.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Able to accurately count to 50.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Regularly required to stand or sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms; use hands and engage in repetitive movements.
  • Must be able to wear vinyl or nitrile gloves.
  • Frequently required to walk.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, which includes bending when picking a box up and setting boxes down on a pallet.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to turn each time a Safetea Liner is made and when placing it into a green crate, as well as when placing finished bags into boxes.

Responsibilities

  • Push liners through top taper machine
  • Visually inspect the product, and overall visual inspection for critical characteristics
  • Count and place liners into a box
  • Documents non-conforming material
  • Follows production orders and enters production data into a computer or documents on paper
  • Maintains a clean work area and ensures work area is clean at the end of shift
  • Continuously stock machine hoppers
  • Assemble & stage boxes with liners and daily labels
  • Assistant in the change film roll
  • Complete tracking tickets and stage finished goods
  • Communicate raw materials needs with warehouse personnel
  • Move pallets of raw materials and finished goods with a pallet-jack
  • Place parts onto fixture for assembly
  • Press fit parts into assembly
  • Visually inspect the cuff and tube, and overall visual inspection for critical characteristics
  • Count and place parts into bin
  • Fold bags in half
  • Place in box
  • Operates pallet jack as needed
  • Cross train for continuous learning and development for back up support in the in case of vacation/absent
