As a Line Technician, you will maintain system levels as specified in system operating instructions, calculate amplifier output, and set and replace distribution and line extender amplifiers. You will also diagnose and change out power supplies and line amplifiers in the field, as required. This role involves performing installations, repairs, and stabilizing of nodes daily, as well as installing electronics, making power supply connections, and balancing and testing battery loads and power supply standby operations. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing the entire distribution and trunk system, working with and handling contractors, preparing detailed work prints, writing Job Cost estimates, and creating a bill of materials (BOM) for aerial and underground projects. The role also includes assisting and effecting interface for required revisions to strand and design maps, climbing poles, ladders, towers, and other structures, and operating bucket trucks in compliance with company safety procedures. You will resolve digital problems from HSD modem back to distributions, front line, optical nodes to head-end, and solve power supply problems as required. Field engineering tasks include assessing the site, detailing the layout, and resolving proposed locations of electronics equipment. You will also perform temporizations of feeder and trunk cable, ensuring all work is done safely and in compliance with National Electric Code, National Electrical Safety Code, and OSHA regulations. Driving company vehicles daily and maintaining an accurate inventory of vehicle stock are also key responsibilities. You will demonstrate and ensure compliance with The Customer 1st Philosophy, Liberty Latin America Code of Conduct, and Liberty safety standards and procedures. Other functions may be assigned.
