About The Position

This role requires a Line Technician with strong mechanical skills and leadership abilities to manage various aspects of the production process. The position emphasizes keen observation, manual dexterity, excellent attendance, and the ability to analyze production data. The technician will be responsible for ensuring efficient startups with minimal waste, meeting customer specifications, and maintaining high product quality through constant attention and concentration. Decision-making and problem-solving skills are crucial for reacting to issues and making necessary adjustments based on material properties and dimensions. The role involves following the entire production process from extrusion to packaging and communicating effectively with team members to address quality concerns. Basic math, reading, and writing skills are necessary for process control and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Handle production processes with knowledge, mechanical skills, and leadership.
• Ensure good startup with as little waste as possible.
• Meet customer specifications according to written and verbal instructions.
• Maintain the quality and consistency of the product through constant attention and concentration.
• Make quick decisions and react to problems in a timely manner.
• Make necessary condition changes based on foam material properties and dimensions within the first 300 lbs. of extrusion.
• Follow the production process from extrusion to packaging to ensure the highest quality possible.
• Verbally communicate with team members to prevent and correct quality-related issues using company telephones, intercom system, and/or two-way radio.
• Set temperatures, make tooling calculations, adjust speeds, and document all information to ensure the product is processed correctly and meets customer specifications.
