About The Position

HP Hood is seeking a self-driven Line Technician to join their team. This role is crucial for ensuring production lines run efficiently and involves making controlled adjustments to equipment, addressing equipment problems to minimize downtime, and identifying line bottlenecks for improvement. The Line Technician will also be responsible for generating work orders for process improvements and corrective maintenance, maintaining operational documentation, and operating equipment according to Hood standards. Upholding quality, safety, and cleanliness standards, performing required maintenance, and communicating effectively with team members are key aspects of this position. The role also involves ensuring all resources are available for production runs, preparing the oncoming shift for success, and actively monitoring equipment for potential issues and improvements. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and responsibility for food safety and quality.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
At least 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing.
Intermediate Computer Skills (i.e. Word, Excel, etc).
Excellent Troubleshooting Experience and solid mechanical skills
Strong communication skills and the demonstrated ability to work well with people.
Ability to multi-task and work independently; Various tasks involving the responsibility of the food safety and quality of company products.
Adapts to changes in the work environment
Strong written and verbal communication
Exhibits ability to learn and apply new skills
Work effectively with team members to accomplish department and plant goals
Lift/Carry (2 hands) 35 lbs frequently
Lifting: Heavy (over 70 lbs.)frequently
Standing: Long periods (a minimum of 8+ hours)

Adhere to all safety and environmental protocols, procedures and training.
Maintain a safe work environment at all times and immediately report and take appropriate action to correct safety concerns.
Comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices, including GMP dress code standards.
Responsible for reporting to work in a condition to work at scheduled times and communicating tardiness and absences according to the Call-Off Procedure and Attendance Policy.

Responsibilities

Makes controlled adjustments to equipment to optimize the running efficiency of the line.
Addresses equipment problems in an aggressive manner, as to minimize downtime.
Determine line “bottlenecks” and take action to improve.
Ensure work orders are generated for process improvements, and corrective maintenance items.
Responsible for maintaining documentation associated with operations.
Operates equipment such that bottle is handled IAW Hood standards.
Upholds quality, safety, and cleanliness standards within designated area.
Ensures that all required maintenance is performed.
Communicates with other team members to ensure efficient plant operations.
Ensures that all resources are available for production run.
Setup oncoming shift for successful run; expected to perform any duties necessary to support the team.
Obtain information necessary to perform duties at pre shift team meetings, and by meeting with off going Line Technician.
Vigilantly monitor equipment operation for indications of impending problems, and possible operational improvements.
Adhere to all food safety and food quality requirements as well as the regulatory authorities with jurisdiction over our products and processes.
Maintain food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner.
Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
