About The Position
Lizard's Thicket is looking to hire a full or part-time Line Server / Short-Order Cook to help our kitchen staff prepare delicious food for our loyal customers. This position involves assembling plates of food based on customer orders, ensuring consistent portioning and presentation, and maintaining efficient and timely preparation. It also includes proper food storage, handling, and ensuring sanitary food-handling practices. The role is in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and commitment to customer service are key to providing a quality dining experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience as a line server or in a relevant role is preferred
- Comfortable in the kitchen
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to memorize information easily
- Ability to read and follow directions well
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgment calls when appropriate

Responsibilities
- Assemble plates of food based on tickets generated from customer orders.
- Ensure consistent portion and presentation of food on plates.
- Prepare food in an efficient and timely manner.
- Perform proper storage and handling of food.
- Inspect serving areas regularly to ensure safe, sanitary food-handling practices.
