About The Position

The Line Operator will be responsible for overseeing the PVC production line of pipe to ensure the quality of product produced meets company specifications. This role involves palletizing produced pipe, adjusting machines to meet standards, ensuring start-up of lines are ready, inspecting equipment and machines throughout the shift, documenting quality checks, weight checks, and speeds, temperatures, and general conditions of the line. The operator will also ensure housekeeping protocols are met in their work area, assist other line operators, and perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor, Leadman, Plant Superintendent/Manager.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work any shift
  • Willing to work overtime if needed
  • Must be able to fully pass a pre-employment drug screening
  • Must be able to read and understand a tape measure (knowing how to read 1/8th, 1/16th, 1/32nd measurements)
  • Safety-conscious
  • Ability to troubleshoot/discover and correct quality issues
  • Good attendance
  • Effective communication/interpersonal skills
  • Meet physical requirements of the position
  • Be able to work in changing environments of hot and cold

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with manufacturing
  • Previous experience with forklift/fork truck
  • Previous experience working in a team-based environment

Responsibilities

  • Assisting other line operators
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor, Leadman, Plant Superintendent/Manager
  • Follow all safety rules and policies
  • Safely perform all activities as defined and required by Supervisor
  • Ensure all work meets defined quality standards
  • Meet weekly work level and productivity standards
  • Work with team members to discover ways to improve processes
  • Learn other tasks as required by Supervisor or Lead
  • Attend to the production line ensuring a smooth-running line free of complications
  • Communicate with Leads, Supervisor, Maintenance Tech and Manager as needed for efficiency
  • Additional activities as assigned
