About The Position

Eversource Energy is the largest Energy delivery company in New England, supporting 4.4 million customers in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. This is a Fully Qualified Line Mechanic position where the individual will perform work involved in the construction, operation, and maintenance of the electric system. A line mechanic is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of overhead and underground electrical power lines and auxiliary equipment. This includes working aloft on electric utility poles or on ground and pad-mounted structures. The selected candidate must be qualified to hold and possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Rubber gloving of high voltage distribution systems up to 23KV is a requirement. The individual will be required, during periods of trouble call assignment, to be available at the reporting base within approximately one-half hour. Responding to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs is part of every employee’s role. If employed, you will be given an Emergency Restoration assignment. This means you may be called to assist during an emergency outside of your normal responsibilities, work hours, and location.

Requirements

At least one year of experience as a Line Mechanic.
Ability to climb poles skillfully with Lineman’s climbers.
Ability to direct the work of others when assigned.
Must be qualified to hold and possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
Must be physically able to perform the “essential duties” of the Line Mechanic position.
Must be able to effectively interact, communicate, and direct the work of other co-workers.
Must be available to perform overtime and emergency work as required.
Must live within one hour of the reporting location.
Must successfully pass the written assessment.
Must successfully pass the overhead physical agility assessment.
