About The Position

The individual will perform work involved in the construction, operation, and maintenance of the electric system. A Fully Qualified Line Mechanic position requires at least one year of experience. A line mechanic is responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of overhead and underground electrical power lines and auxiliary equipment. This includes working aloft on electric utility poles or on ground and pad mounted structures. Must have the ability to climb poles skillfully with Lineman’s climbers; and the ability to direct the work of others when assigned are required. The selected candidate must be qualified to hold and possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Rubber gloving of high voltage distribution systems up to 23KV is a requirement. The individual will be required, during periods of trouble call assignment, to be available at the reporting base within approximately one-half hour. Requirements

At least one year of experience as a Fully Qualified Line Mechanic.
Ability to climb poles skillfully with Lineman’s climbers.
Ability to direct the work of others when assigned.
Qualified to hold and possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
Ability to perform rubber gloving of high voltage distribution systems up to 23KV.
Ability to be available at the reporting base within approximately one-half hour during periods of trouble call assignment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Physically able to perform the “essential duties” of the Line Mechanic position.
Able to effectively interact, communicate, and direct the work of other co-workers.
Available to perform overtime and emergency work as required.
Live within one hour of the reporting location.
Successfully pass the written assessment.
Successfully pass the overhead physical agility assessment.
