Requirements
- Ability to stand for several hours per day.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work near moving forklift traffic.
- Continuous pushing and pulling of a wheeled cart containing units and materials.
- Frequent lifting of units on and off of carts.
- Good shoulder strength to pull materials from racks and bins.
Responsibilities
- Moving raw materials from storage areas and components from production areas to work areas.
- Distributing materials to the workforce as needed in a timely fashion.
- Reading material placement plans and production schedules to plan production and ensure accurate delivery of mattress materials.
- Lifting and carrying materials from trains to the mattress assembly line.
- Sorting and placing materials on the mattress assembly line according to predetermined sequences.
- Gathering materials by pushing a cart and pulling materials from racks and bins.
- Learning to identify different types of materials by sight.
- Cleaning and maintaining unit build and mattress build material loading and storage areas.
- Recycling all cardboard and plastic.
- Recording the number of materials that are damaged or substituted.
- Interacting and responding professionally to co-worker's requests.
- Performing housekeeping in assigned areas and placing scrap material in the baler.
- Safely operating the baler.
