Requirements
- Continuous walking through the storage areas to gather mattress components.
- Frequent bending to retrieve materials / mattress components from lower storage shelves.
- Frequent reaching overhead to retrieve components from higher levels of storage.
- Frequent pushing and pulling of wheeled carts loaded with components.
- Frequent repetitive use of hands/arms handling component parts.
- Frequent grasping of component parts.
- Frequent lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Gathering mattress components from the shelves in the storage area (“materials supermarket”) and from other production (“work in progress”) areas to the mattress assembly area.
- Pushing a wheeled cart up and down the storage area aisles and gathering materials based on the “Bill of Material” or “production ticket” and loading it onto a wheeled cart.
- Pushing or pulling the wheeled cart to the applicable mattress assembly area once all materials are loaded.
