About The Position

The Line Leader at Cook Winston-Salem leads and assists production personnel in fabricating, assembling, packaging, and/or inspecting medical devices. The role includes making product in the assigned department at least 80% of the time, training employees, and learning to perform all operator-qualified processes in the department. The Line Leader also supports the department Supervisor and assumes the Supervisor’s responsibilities in their absence.

Requirements

Ability to read, write, and understand product documentation and specification drawings written in English.
Ability to use small measuring devices and gauges.
Basic computer entry and retrieval skills.
Good organizational skills.
Good manual dexterity.
Ability to occasionally lift approximately 5–50 lbs.

Responsibilities

Work with others, look for ways to help them, and communicate Cook standards for quality and integrity positively.
Train employees to make product and make product in the assigned department at least 80% of the time.
Learn and become qualified to make product on all operator-qualified processes in the department.
Meet daily with the department Supervisor to determine priorities and relay information to department personnel.
Assist the Supervisor with overall department operations and functions.
Assist with and oversee employees’ adherence to controlled manufacturing procedures, applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Quality System Procedures (QSPs).
Assume Supervisor responsibilities in their absence.
Perform other duties and special projects as necessary.
Strictly adhere to safety requirements.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
