About The Position
Primal Pet Foods is expanding its team at its Abilene facility to meet the growing demand for its premium pet food products. The company is seeking a motivated and dependable Line Lead for the second shift. This role involves driving daily production operations, supporting and developing team members, and ensuring smooth production flow while upholding food safety and quality standards. The Line Lead will foster a positive, team-oriented work environment, lead by example, and assist in achieving operational goals safely, efficiently, and accurately. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys coaching, problem-solving, and contributing to a company that values teamwork and growth.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months of leadership experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and develop team members.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities
- Lead and support employees during daily production operations.
- Assign tasks, positions, and projects based on operational needs.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and team-focused work environment.
- Help resolve employee concerns and encourage open communication.
- Develop employees to work confidently and independently.
- Recognize strong performance and address policy violations when necessary.
- Train employees on safety procedures, GMPs, food safety and sanitation standards, equipment operation, and company SOPs and documentation procedures.
- Proactively identify and address safety concerns.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, food safety, quality, and security standards.
- Support production lines and step into operational roles when needed.
- Ensure production goals and quality standards are achieved.
- Monitor production paperwork for accuracy and completion.
- Report equipment malfunctions promptly and communicate urgency levels.
- Coordinate workflow with peers and other departments.
- Ensure teams have the resources and information needed to succeed.
- Ensure safe equipment operation according to company procedures.
- Direct proper breakdown, cleaning, and sanitization of equipment.
- Maintain organized and clean workspaces through strong housekeeping practices.
- Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
- Respond quickly to production issues and implement solutions.
- Assist with other departmental duties and special projects as assigned.
- Maintain punctual and regular attendance.
