Inside the Role Provide work direction to HDEP head prep & assembly and water pump assembly areas by assisting the team to meet objectives & production metrics set by area manager. The line lead ensures the resources, skills, training, materials and information are available to the team to safely meet daily production goals within the facility. Requirements

  • Must be capable of repetitive hand manipulation, grasping and supporting power tools
  • Must be willing to train on 1st shift.
  • Must be able to stand on concrete for entire shift with repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a repetitive motion environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs frequently (option to use hoist)
  • Read, understand and complete documentation
  • Willingness to cross-train throughout the area
  • Ability to collaborate with a team and work independently
  • Ability to work overtime when necessary
  • Established satisfactory attendance record and performance rating
  • Must maintain a clean work area.
  • High level of analytical and problem solving & decision making skills
  • Working knowledge of specific work areas
  • Possess good communication (both oral and written) skills
  • Computer skills are required (some training may be necessary)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing (automotive/trucking) environment
  • Previous mechanical experience preferred
  • Previous leadership experience preferred
  • Experience with Computers, Navision, hand and air tool gauges preferred
  • High School Diploma / GED preferred and further college education a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform physically demanding manufacturing duties including: repetitive processes, moderate to heavy lifting, the use of machinery, and following standardized work procedures
  • Provide work direction and assist team members to meet objectives
  • Communicate company objectives and goals in a positive manner
  • Protect company equipment, tools, interest and employees
  • Identify and support correction in regards to safety, quality, and performance issues
  • Assist with documentation and form development
  • Train all team members on the safety and quality procedures, standards, and standardized work procedures.
  • Train new team members on existing and new process changes as necessary and maintain training log.
  • Allocate manpower as needed
  • Assist supervisor with other duties as assigned
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and fix production/program issues.
  • Actively participate in improving work area in terms of safety, quality, attendance, productivity, suggestion activities, housekeeping, and throughput
  • Use computer systems to access company data associated with the assembly process, utilize drawings, bills of materials and specification sheets in both electronic and hard copy
  • Ability to operate hand tools and small power tools in a safe and nondestructive manner.
  • Use of forklift, tugger, pallet jack as needed.
  • Meet quality standards and implement continuous improvement measures
  • Cross train on other jobs as required
