About The Position

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing a variety of food items according to standard recipes and company policies. This role requires knowledge of various cooking methods and kitchen equipment, maintaining a clean and sanitary work station, and ensuring that only approved food items are prepared. The position also involves assisting with food preparation during off-peak times and adhering to standard operating procedures. Maintaining professional appearance and uniform standards is also a key aspect of this role.

Requirements

  • Standing for long periods of time with frequent bending and turning.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to withstand extreme hot/cold temperatures.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must possess a valid Food Handler’s Certificate or other similar license per local code.
  • Ability to be courteous and accountable in all situations.
  • Works in a friendly, honest, and diligent manner with fellow team members, supervisors, and managers.
  • Maintains uniform standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of meats, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using standard recipes.
  • Comply with all company standard methods of cooking, portion sizes, quality standards, kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Properly use broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work station and area.
  • Ensure that only food items approved by management are being prepared.
  • Assist in food preparation assignments during off-peak periods or as needed.
  • Understand and practice the “FIFO” method.
  • Follow all company standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain uniform standards and present a professional appearance at all times.
  • Respond to guests’ special requests in a courteous and accountable fashion.
  • Monitor the consistency of the product provided to all guests.
  • Cooperate with all team members when assigned additional tasks and listen to others with compassion.
  • Seek knowledge from multiple sources and learn from past experiences for future development and growth.
