About The Position

The Hotel Weyanoke is currently looking for a professional and experienced Line Cook. This role is responsible for executing well-designed and creative menus for the restaurants. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, a hard work mentality, and a desire to deliver outstanding guest experiences. Previous work experience in a high-standard environment is greatly desired. The role offers an opportunity to learn from a Highly Acclaimed Chef and grow within a Hospitality Management Company.

Requirements

• 18+ years old
• High level of professionalism
• Reliable transportation with valid driver's license required
• Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma/GED preferred
• Excellent verbal communication and organization skills
• Minimum of Two (2) years restaurant or kitchen experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Preparing food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards.
• Maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.
• Helping achieve ongoing guest satisfaction and team goals.
• Prepping food items ahead of time as requested, ensuring not to prepare more than estimated needs.
• Returning all food items not used on the next shift to designated storage areas, covering/dating all perishables.
• Assisting in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems; controlling food waste, loss, and usage per standards.
• Dating all food containers and rotating as per food standards, ensuring perishables are kept at proper temperatures.
• Checking pars for shift use, determining necessary preparation, freezer pull, and line set up.
• Noting any out-of-stock items or possible shortages.
• Receiving and unpacking items as they arrive from food vendors.
• Dating all items as they arrive and packing them according to department standards.
