About The Position

Lead a historic hotel with a lot of heart. The Hotel Weyanoke is a beautifully renovated historic hotel in the heart of Farmville, right next to Longwood University's campus. We're looking for a General Manager to lead it. This role is for someone who loves hospitality, knows how to grow a business, and gets excited about giving guests an experience they'll talk about long after checkout. It's a big job: you'll oversee rooms, dining at the Tap Root Tavern and the Catbird Rooftop Bar, catering, special events, and group stays. Requirements

Hands-on experience across all key areas of hotel operations: rooms, food and beverage, sales and marketing, cash flow, and full P&L responsibility
A proven track record of building strong teams
Comfort creating and carrying out business plans and reading income statements and balance sheets
A self-starter who is highly organized and pays close attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Tech-savvy, with experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Google apps, and POS/PMS systems
A resourceful, take-initiative attitude (we call it R&I)

Responsibilities

Own the hotel's full P&L, including rooms, food and beverage, sales and marketing, maintenance, guest relations, and administration.
Hit profitability and cash flow goals and keep revenue moving up.
Lead department heads, hold regular team meetings, and make sure everyone knows their role and feels supported. Oversee hiring, reviews, training, and professional development.
Develop the hotel's annual and long-range business plans and put Taylor Hospitality's proven marketing and guest relations programs to work.
Work with the Controller on cash flow and accounting, review daily revenue reports, and handle month-end inventories, monthly statements, and payroll.
Set the standard for warm, friendly service and step in on guest issues when needed.
Protect the safety of guests and property, care for the building and facilities, keep the hotel in line with local, state, and federal laws, and manage vendors and contractors.
Represent the company to community leaders, clients, vendors, and staff with professionalism and a friendly presence.
Hold weekly, monthly, and yearly department meetings and communicate weekly with the corporate team.
