About The Position

This position involves working directly with the culinary leadership team to develop and expertly prepare dishes and recipes in a respectful and progressive environment that values team contributions. The role is for a Cook at Mulberry Street Tavern at the Surety Hotel in Des Moines, Iowa, with both full-time and part-time positions available, including AM and PM shifts. The hotel is part of Marriott's Autograph Collection and is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Aparium Hotel Group.

Requirements

4+ years of professional line cook experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant, hotel, or comparable kitchen.
Strong proficiency on multiple stations, including sauté, grill, plancha, fry, and/or garde manger.
Ability to independently set up, execute, and break down a station to established standards.
Experience with scratch cooking, butchery and fabrication, sauces, stocks, and proper cooking techniques.
Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, product handling, labeling, and rotation.
Ability to execute consistently during high-volume service while maintaining quality and presentation.
Open availability and willingness to work in all meal periods: breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and banquets & catering.

Nice To Haves

Experience helping train or support less-experienced cooks is a plus.
