About The Position

St. Francis Winery & Vineyards is seeking a Line Cook to prepare high-quality food for their Wine & Food Pairing program and special events. This role involves consistent preparation according to specifications and recipes, while adhering to safety and sanitation procedures. The position is hourly, full-time, and requires a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays, with potential for overtime.

Requirements

  • Previous food service or kitchen experience required.
  • Understanding of professional cooking and knife handing skills.
  • Must be able to read and write in English in order to read recipes, provide written updates to oncoming staff as needed and communicate with other employees.
  • Basic math skills necessary to understand recipes, measurements and portion sizes.
  • The ability to follow food preparation and presentation requirements to ensure the high quality of food provided to guests.
  • Working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation and adherence to all safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle multiple and changing priorities in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares food products according to St. Francis Winery portion and quality specifications, carefully following all identified specifications and recipes and adhering to all safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Maintains a sanitary, organized work area at all times.
  • Keeps the kitchen clean and organized throughout the day and performs closing clean-up responsibilities.
  • Ensures that all food has been properly labeled, stored and refrigerated in compliance with Health Department guidelines.
  • Works effectively with tasting room and kitchen teams through daily duties and operations, providing assistance as needed to ensure optimum service to all guests.
  • Fully supports the Winery’s policies and procedures.
  • Fully supports the Company’s commitment towards established Safety practices and policies.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested by the Chef or Sous Chef at any time.
