About The Position

Six Pints Collective is seeking Line Cooks to join their team at Granville Island Brewing in Vancouver, BC. The Line Cooks are a vital part of the taproom team, showcasing the beer selection by offering a finely tuned menu tailored to complement the year-round, seasonal, and small batch brews. The Line Cooks serve as a Customer Service Ambassador by ensuring that the food served always meets or exceeds the company's standards of excellence, especially during non-peak times when the amount of food prepared is critical. Reporting to the Taproom Manager, it is expected that all kitchen staff take responsibility for setting the expectation for other team members to work as a team to maximize productivity. Line Cooks must meet and exceed standards at all times, whether it is cleanliness, organization, or food quality. Speed and accuracy are vital skills for members of the kitchen team.

Requirements

  • Previous kitchen/line cook experience necessary
  • Food Safe Certification required
  • Positive attitude and pleasant with people
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Experience working in a team and able to work fast paced environment
  • Proven ability to follow directions
  • A self-sufficient and self-motivating work ethic
  • Honest and reliable
  • The ability to multi-task

Responsibilities

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting team members
  • Ensure timeliness and consistency in the preparation of all food items and events menus according to recipes and standards
  • Actively share ideas, opinions and suggestions in daily shift briefings
  • Continually strive to improve food preparation and presentations
  • Maintain proper rotation of product in all coolers to minimize wastage/spoilage
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotions
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
  • Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
