About The Position

The Calgary Stampede is a not-for-profit community organization that preserves and promotes its western heritage, culture and community spirit. It aims to create a world-class, year-round gathering place for the community. The organization operates with the theme “We’re Greatest Together” and is a respected volunteer-based organization with over 2,500 volunteers and 1,200 employees. The Stampede welcomes visitors from around the world and those new to the local community, believing that diverse cultures enhance community spirit. This role is for outgoing, enthusiastic individuals to join the F&B and Culinary teams.

Requirements

  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • A minimum of one year full-line restaurant and/or fast food cooking experience.
  • Must be positive, energetic, and a team player.
  • Must be able to perform duties that require physical lifting, repetitive movements and standing or walking for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work well and thrive under pressure.
  • Alberta Health Services Food Safe Certification.
  • Be 18 years of age or older by June 2026.
  • Be legally entitled to work for any employer in Canada.
  • Have a Social Insurance Number.
  • Have a bank account in their own name.
  • Must successfully participate in a criminal background check.
  • Be available to work for all 10 days of the Calgary Stampede.
  • Complete and comply with all required training and policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of food safety procedures is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Providing excellent customer service in a prompt, friendly, and efficient manner.
  • Organizing, preparing, and cooking quality food products using grills, fryers, ovens, and other kitchen equipment.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work station.
  • Ensuring food is presentable, appetizing, and served quickly and efficiently.
  • Maintaining chilled, frozen, and hot food items in a manner that complies with all AHS Standards.
  • Rotating of food stock to maintain freshness.
