About The Position

The Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality meals in accordance with recipes, standards, and health regulations. Working as part of a kitchen team, the Cook ensures timely preparation of menu items, maintains a clean and organized work station, and contributes to an efficient, positive kitchen environment.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, knife skills, and kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to follow recipes and maintain portion control.
  • Understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation standards (HACCP).
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Good time management and ability to multitask.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and portion standards.
  • Set up and stock work stations with all necessary supplies before service.
  • Inspect and ensure the quality of ingredients prior to use.
  • Monitor and manage cooking processes to ensure consistent food quality.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely (ovens, grills, fryers, slicers, etc.).
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work area at all times.
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene standards, including proper temperature control and storage.
  • Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure smooth and timely service.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food deliveries.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, supply shortages, or food safety concerns to the supervisor.
  • Adapt to changing menu items and special dietary requirements (e.g., allergen modifications).
  • Complete opening and closing duties as assigned.
