About The Position

The Line Cook is in charge of preparing food & setting up/prepping required items or necessary supplies.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience as a Line Cook or prep cook in high volume operation or creative environment.
  • Basic knowledge or understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedure.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
  • The ability to work as part of a team.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing menu ingredients, which includes washing, peeling, cutting, and slicing fruits and vegetables as well as marinating meats.
  • Preparing / executing recipes by following standardized recipes.
  • Plating and garnishing meal items in accordance with the instructions provided by the BOH Management.
  • Cooking menu items in cooperation with the reset of the BOH staff.
  • Ensuring that all cooking stations are adequately set up / stocked with the necessary ingredients and cooking equipment.
  • Ensuring that all cooking stations and kitchen surfaces/station are cleaned and disinfected before and after each shift.
  • Adhering to standard food rotation practices to reduce food wastage and minimize the risk of contamination.
  • Maintain a positive and profession demeanor with coworkers.
  • Follow all company policies found in the food & beverage handbook and those specific to their location.
