About The Position

The Line Associate - Breast Cutter is primarily responsible for using a knife to remove breast meat from whole birds on the cone line. The employee must use and maintain personal protective equipment and comply with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and applicable local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations. The role may also involve working in other departments as directed and performing additional assigned duties.

• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shift hours.
• Sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character.
• Ability to work in a wet and cold environment at approximately 45°F (4°C).
• Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift.
• Ability to tolerate exposure to noise greater than 85 decibels, CO2, and moving production.
• Ability to bend, stoop, lift up to 10 pounds repeatedly, and climb steps.
• Ability to frequently stoop, kneel, crawl, and bend.
• Ability to work in an environment with strong, raw animal odors.
• Must use and maintain personal protective equipment.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Related poultry industry experience.
• Basic math functions and skills.

Responsibilities

• Cut breast meat away from the carcass and pull it down past the tenders.
• Perform the cut on every other side of the wing.
• Cut one breast on every other bird at a pace of approximately 18 birds per minute.
• Follow directions and work in other departments as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
• Wear required personal protective equipment.
