About The Position

EutroPHIX, a division of SePRO Corporation, is dedicated to accelerating water resource restoration. They are a leading environmental consultancy and restoration organization specializing in the restoration and management of freshwater ecosystems, with a mission to address water quality degradation, combat eutrophication, and enhance biodiversity. They utilize cutting-edge research, innovative technologies, and evidence-based solutions to deliver impactful water quality restoration projects across the globe. EutroPHIX is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Limnologist and Project Leader to guide water quality restoration projects aimed at tackling eutrophication, improving aquatic ecosystem health, and mitigating the effects of nutrient pollution. In this role, you will combine your expertise in limnology and environmental science with leadership skills to support multi-disciplinary teams, collaborate with stakeholders, and implement science-based strategies to restore freshwater ecosystems. As Project Leader, you will work with the team and stakeholders throughout the restoration process, from assessment to implementation and monitoring, and will have the opportunity to work on high-profile projects with local, state, and federal partners.

Requirements

  • Master's or PhD in Limnology, Environmental Science, Aquatic Ecology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working in limnology, water quality monitoring, or freshwater ecosystem restoration.
  • Proven experience working with interdisciplinary teams and managing large-scale projects.
  • Expertise in water quality monitoring techniques and field sampling.
  • Experience with environmental data analysis.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and standards related to water quality restoration.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to work with a diverse team of environmental professionals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey scientific findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, including public presentations, workshops, and client interactions.
  • Ability to manage project budgets, timelines, and deliverables efficiently.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments, including conducting fieldwork in various weather conditions.
  • Willingness to travel for field assessments, project meetings, and client interactions as needed.
  • Passion for environmental conservation and water quality restoration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and conduct limnological assessments of freshwater ecosystems.
  • Design and implement field-based water quality monitoring programs.
  • Perform water and sediment sampling, manage laboratory analysis, and interpret data to understand ecosystem dynamics and identify causes of eutrophication.
  • Support the planning, design, and execution of water quality restoration projects.
  • Coordinate project teams, including environmental scientists, engineers, technicians, and consultants, ensuring tasks are completed on time, within budget, and according to project specifications.
  • Lead project planning meetings, manage project schedules, track progress to meet deadlines and project milestones.
  • In conjunction with Technical Specialist, work closely with government agencies, local communities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and other stakeholders to develop collaborative water quality restoration strategies.
  • Communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences, including presenting findings at public meetings, workshops, and conferences.
  • Prepare technical reports, publications, and grant proposals for clients, funding agencies, and regulatory bodies.
  • Educate stakeholders about the impacts of eutrophication and the importance of effective water quality management and restoration.
