About The Position

Carbon Health is seeking a Limited X-ray Technologist to join the clinical team at an imaging-equipped hub clinic. Working under a state limited-scope license, this role performs permitted diagnostic X-ray exams as part of same-day urgent care. The scope and permitted exams vary by state.

The position also supports patient flow and clinical operations, including rooming patients, taking vitals, point-of-care testing, procedures, blood draws, and other clinical duties. Front desk coverage may be required, along with travel to other Carbon Health locations within a reasonable distance as business needs require.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state limited-scope or limited-permit X-ray license; scope and permitted exams vary by state.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, walk-in care environment.

Nice To Haves

• Medical Assistant certification.
• Experience in urgent care, an emergency department, or outpatient imaging.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic X-ray exams within the scope permitted by the state limited license and per provider order, positioning patients correctly for quality images.
• Refer exams outside the licensed scope to a Full X-ray Technologist.
• Follow radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles to protect patients and staff.
• Maintain and calibrate X-ray equipment and promptly report malfunctions.
• Ensure images meet quality standards before submission for interpretation.
• Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation in the EHR.
• Support patient flow and assist the clinical team with rooming patients, vitals, point-of-care testing, procedures, blood draws, and other clinical duties.
• Follow safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance protocols, including state and federal radiation licensing requirements.
• Cover front desk duties as needed, including check-in, check-out, phones, and other front office duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned by clinic leadership.
• Be available to travel to other Carbon Health locations within a reasonable distance as business needs require.
