About The Position

Applications are being accepted from qualified individuals for a Limited Term position at the Lecturer rank or Instructor rank, in the Department of Economics, St. Thomas More College (STM). This is a two-year appointment, effective July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2028. The department has teaching needs in introductory and intermediate macroeconomics and microeconomics, quantitative economics, and labour economics. The teaching load will be six 3-cu courses over the three academic terms. The appointment will be made at the rank of Lecturer or Instructor depending on the successful candidate’s qualifications. STM is committed to high-quality teaching and research. Successful candidates will be expected to make significant contributions to teaching; to contribute to one or more of STM’s inter-disciplinary programs according to their interest or the requirements of the position; and to forge productive links with the corresponding University of Saskatchewan Department of Economics. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellence or promise of excellence in teaching. In addition, full-time faculty duties may include scholarly work and research, service on academic committees/other administrative duties, and/or extension work and community service, as assigned by the Dean.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in the discipline is preferred.
  • Master’s degree and appropriate experience may be considered.
  • Cover letter describing teaching and research strengths.
  • Current curriculum vitae with all stated contact information current.
  • Written response to the STM Mission Statement.
  • Copies of transcripts of qualifying degree.
  • Teaching dossier, including teaching philosophy, copies of teaching evaluations (both by students and peers; if the applicant has previously taught courses for which he/she is applying, teaching evaluations from all courses taught should be made available), sample syllabi, and other materials as appropriate.
  • Sample of academic writing.
  • At least two letters of reference (sent directly to the Department Head).

Responsibilities
