About The Position
TalkNY Therapy MHC-LP is seeking part-time or full-time Limited Permit Mental Health Counselors or Psychotherapists who have already graduated. The role involves providing mental health counseling to a diverse patient population using evidence-based therapy approaches. The therapist will conduct remote mental health therapy for children and adults via a virtual platform, requiring comfort and knowledge of teleconferencing applications like Zoom. Responsibilities include completing progress notes, initial intakes, treatment plans, maintaining client charts, and case management. Participation in weekly mandatory supervision is also required.
Requirements
- MHC-LP (or working towards MHC-LP)
- Comfortable and knowledgeable of teleconferencing applications such as Zoom.
- Ability to work independently as well as communicate emergency situations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with various theoretical approaches.
Nice To Haves
- Preferably able to work 15-20 hours weekly.
Responsibilities
- Conduct remote mental health therapy for children and adults.
- Complete progress notes and update calendar within 24 hours of time of service.
- Complete initial intakes, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Maintain client's charts and keep complete and correct documentation.
- Perform case management, including care coordination, collaborating with referral sources, and connecting clients to care.
- Participate weekly in mandatory supervision.
