About The Position

HDR is hiring a Lighting Intern to support project lighting designers and participate in architectural lighting design work. Under direct supervision, the intern will contribute to the design process, develop presentation graphics, document lighting and lighting controls in Revit models for construction drawings, and perform photometric calculations in AGI32. The role also offers opportunities to connect with staff for mentoring and participate in HDR Young Professionals Group programs.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in HDR’s employee-owned culture.

Nice To Haves

• Prefer two years completed toward a degree with a 3.0 or higher GPA.
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to the field of study or industry.
• Preference will be given to local candidates.

Responsibilities

• Connect with staff at all levels for mentoring opportunities.
• Participate in HDR Young Professionals Group programs.
• Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a Project Lighting Designer.
• Participate in the architectural design process and develop presentation graphics to communicate concepts.
• Document lighting and lighting controls in Revit models under the direct supervision of a Project Lighting Designer to produce complete construction drawings.
• Perform photometric calculations in AGI32.
• Perform other duties as needed.
