About The Position

The Light Welder supports manufacturing operations by performing basic welding and fabrication tasks under close supervision. This entry-level role is responsible for completing standard production welds, interpreting simple blueprints and work instructions, conducting basic weld inspections, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The Light Welder will develop proficiency in multiple welding processes while contributing to the production of high-quality products.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Basic proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on common steels.
Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints, drawings, and work instructions with guidance.
Basic knowledge of welding equipment setup, operation, and routine maintenance.
Ability to perform basic visual inspections of welds; final inspection performed under supervisory guidance.
Working knowledge of OSHA safety requirements, PPE, fire prevention, and ventilation practices.
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn manufacturing processes.
Ability to work under close supervision while developing technical skills and increasing responsibility.
Ability to lift, stand, bend, and perform other physical requirements of a manufacturing environment.
Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, both now and in the future.

Nice To Haves

Vocational welding training or completion of a welding apprenticeship preferred.
Basic AWS certification or company-specific welding certifications preferred; willingness to obtain additional certifications as required.

Responsibilities

Perform standard production welds and basic repair welding using established procedures.
Read and follow simple blueprints, drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
Assist with the setup, operation, and routine maintenance of welding equipment.
Perform basic visual inspections of completed welds to identify obvious defects.
Maintain quality standards by following established manufacturing and inspection procedures.
Meet production schedules while maintaining workmanship and safety standards.
Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Follow all company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Participate in training to develop proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding processes.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
