About The Position

The Light Welder supports manufacturing operations by performing basic welding and fabrication tasks under close supervision. This entry-level role is responsible for completing standard production welds, interpreting simple blueprints and work instructions, conducting basic weld inspections, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The Light Welder will develop proficiency in multiple welding processes while contributing to the production of high-quality products.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on common steels.
  • Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints, drawings, and work instructions with guidance.
  • Basic knowledge of welding equipment setup, operation, and routine maintenance.
  • Ability to perform basic visual inspections of welds; final inspection performed under supervisory guidance.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety requirements, PPE, fire prevention, and ventilation practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work under close supervision while developing technical skills and increasing responsibility.
  • Ability to lift, stand, bend, and perform other physical requirements of a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, both now and in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational welding training or completion of a welding apprenticeship preferred.
  • Basic AWS certification or company-specific welding certifications preferred; willingness to obtain additional certifications as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform standard production welds and basic repair welding using established procedures.
  • Read and follow simple blueprints, drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Assist with the setup, operation, and routine maintenance of welding equipment.
  • Perform basic visual inspections of completed welds to identify obvious defects.
  • Maintain quality standards by following established manufacturing and inspection procedures.
  • Meet production schedules while maintaining workmanship and safety standards.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Follow all company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in training to develop proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding processes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
