About The Position

Day & Zimmermann is seeking a full-time Light Driver for their Munitions Plants in Parsons, Kansas. This role involves performing vehicle inspections, recommending repairs, picking orders, building dunnage, assembling merchandise, and checking freight for accuracy and damage. The position also includes performing inventory functions and material transactions, as well as other duties within the ammunition building process. The company is a premier manufacturer of ammunition for the U.S. Military, with over 120 years of experience. The pay rate for this position is $21.86 per hour.

Requirements

Experience operating vehicle and forklift safely.
Knowledge of Security regulations (ATF, DSS, Homeland Security).
Ability to work independently.
Strong math skills.
Effective communication skills.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
3 years minimum experience.
Forklift experience.
Valid Driver’s License.
Minimal reading comprehension 6th grade level required.

Responsibilities

Performs inspection on vehicles for proper operating condition, recommends necessary repairs and may make minor adjustments.
Picks orders for line support and shipments.
Builds dunnage for out shipments and assembles various types of merchandise.
Checks and/or counts freight for accuracy and/or damage; performs necessary inventory functions and material transactions.
Performs other duties in the ammunition building process of the same or lower level of difficulty.
