About The Position

City Wide is looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates clearly, arrives on time, and treats every customer’s facility with care and professionalism. The successful candidate will be resourceful, reliable, and committed to completing each job correctly and safely. We are seeking a dependable and skilled Light Maintenance Technician/Handyman to perform general repairs and routine maintenance at a private school in Palm Beach Gardens. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, mechanically inclined, and capable of completing service requests safely and efficiently with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Previous handyman, facilities maintenance, construction, or property-maintenance experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and general repair work.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple service requests.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Professional appearance and customer-service skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Smartphone required for communication, scheduling, photos, and service documentation.
  • Ability to pass applicable background and driving-record checks.

Responsibilities

  • Complete general handyman and light maintenance service requests.
  • Repair or replace door hardware, locks, hinges, closers, handles, and weather stripping.
  • Perform minor drywall repairs, patching, painting, and touch-ups.
  • Install shelving, pictures, signage, dispensers, and other wall-mounted items.
  • Assemble and repair office furniture and equipment.
  • Replace light bulbs, ballasts, ceiling tiles, and air-conditioning filters.
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs, including faucets, toilet components, and clearing simple clogs.
  • Make minor adjustments and repairs to cabinets, countertops, and flooring.
  • Inspect facilities and identify maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Purchase and transport job-related materials when authorized.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and an organized work area.
  • Document completed work with notes, photos, and material receipts.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, facility managers, and company representatives.
  • Follow all safety procedures and applicable building requirements.
  • Perform other light maintenance duties as assigned.
