As a Light Equipment Operator in the Solid Waste Department, you will help support daily refuse collection and public works operations throughout the City of Craig. This position is responsible for safely operating refuse trucks and equipment, maintaining vehicles and containers, and helping provide reliable service to residential and commercial customers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical
  • CDL Class B license or ability to obtain within the first year of employment
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen, background check, and driving record review
  • Subject to random drug/alcohol testing

Responsibilities

  • Operate automated side-load, front-load, and rear-load refuse trucks
  • Complete residential and commercial refuse collection routes
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and routine maintenance
  • Clean spills and ensure containers are properly positioned
  • Repair and maintain dumpsters and refuse containers
  • Respond professionally to customer concerns and service requests
  • Follow all safety procedures and DOT regulations
  • Assist with additional Solid Waste and Public Works operations as needed
