About The Position

Under the immediate supervision of the Director of Sanitation or their designee, this position is responsible for general labor within the department. The role involves occasional preparation of simple reports and daily records. This position has minimal public contact and no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent (opportunity to acquire within nine months if not possessed at time of employment).
• Minimum of six months related experience to perform effectively with little supervision in varied work situations.
• Ability to perform strenuous manual labor tasks.
• Ability to follow oral instructions.
• Ability to work under extreme weather conditions.
• Possession of a valid Texas Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Sorts and/or bales recyclable material.
• Assists in cleaning equipment, conveyor, hand tools, and trucks.
• May perform minor repairs to the equipment and conveyor.
• Performs manual work.
• Assists other personnel in the department whenever necessary.
• Assists on other work assignments in the department when requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
