About The Position

Audubon is seeking a Light Equipment Operator I to work in its Off Site Office. The role involves moving earth and debris at a jobsite using light construction equipment. The operator is expected to inspect equipment, understand soil types and excavation specifications, follow instructions and safety regulations, and reliably complete required administrative processes, including equipment inspection paperwork. The position requires punctuality and working the designated schedule, with overtime as needed following proper notification.

The employee is responsible for supporting Audubon Companies’ Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures by performing work safely, participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting, identifying and reporting hazards and unsafe conditions, and complying with safe work practices and applicable regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Five years of experience in the construction industry.
• Five years of experience as an equipment operator.
• Experience and knowledge operating construction light equipment, including bobcats, bulldozers, excavators, front-end loaders, backhoes, rollers, RT forklifts, and graders.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to inspect equipment.
• Knowledge of soil types and excavation specifications.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety regulations.
• Knowledge of civil construction, quality assurance practices and procedures, construction safety practices, construction procedures, equipment, and HSE guidelines.
• Proven experience as a civil construction carpenter.
• Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate and report effectively.
• Aptitude in math and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and carry out instructions.
• Ability to work both in a team and independently when required.
• Ability to motivate, lead, teach, and train others on proper work and safety procedures.
• Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems.
• Must have or be able to obtain an OSHA Construction Basic Plus Safety Training Card.
• Must pass pre-employment background and drug screening.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets Company requirements.
