Performs a multitude of general mechanical maintenance tasks such as replaces ceiling tiles and light bulbs, installs a various number of product dispensers and is also responsible for minor carpentry repairs to wall protection, corner guards, cove base or baseboards and minor floor repairs. Light Equipment Mechanic will make repairs to furniture and move furniture, repair wheel chairs, hang clocks and other wall hangings. Inspect building facilities to identify building maintenance needs ensuring the beautification and upkeep of the Facility. Perform preventative maintenance inspections/tasks per defined interval/schedule in a timely manner and document maintenance concerns/resolutions; providing action plans and status reports as needed. Recognizes and corrects potential equipment failure or unsafe conditions and communicates this to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor. Utilizes appropriate Personal Protective Equipment including, but not limited to, safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves as needed. Responsible for proper care/cleaning of tools, parts, materials, and the work area.
