Independence Excavating is growing and looking to add a light duty truck mechanic to our team in Cleveland, Ohio. Requirements

  • Proven experience as a mechanic specializing in light and medium duty pickup trucks, particularly GM Trucks.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and technical issues.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components.
  • Experience using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in upfitting vehicles with aftermarket accessories and modifications is highly desirable.
  • Certification from a recognized automotive training program or equivalent experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on light and medium duty pickup trucks, with a focus on GM Trucks.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify mechanical, electrical, and technical issues.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle problems.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and DOT Inspections.
  • Repair and replace components including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
  • Upfit vehicles according to customer specifications, including installing aftermarket accessories, lift kits, lighting systems, and utility racks.
  • Follow manufacturer guidelines and technical specifications for repairs, service procedures, and upfitting.
  • Keep accurate records of all maintenance, repair, and upfitting work performed on vehicles.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding vehicle issues, repair options, upfitting choices, and estimated costs.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
