About The Position

The Light Duty Truck Mechanic is responsible for safely making repairs, servicing, and maintaining light to medium duty vehicles including but not limited to pickup trucks, passenger vehicles, and trailers, of all types of diesel and non-diesel engines. Requirements

Valid Driver’s License.
Ability to obtain an MSHA Part 46 Certificate (5000-23) as required for the job.
Ability to work, day, swing, and night shifts (occasionally extended hours).
Ability to work in safety sensitive construction setting, including exposure to moving machinery and heavy equipment.
Ability to work collaboratively with a team in a fast-paced and complex environment.
Knowledge of light to medium vehicle components and systems.
Knowledge in the use of computer based diagnostic tools.
Ability to perform routine maintenance.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Possess power and hand tools including sockets and wrenches up to 1 ½” and 24mm with other associated tools of the trade.

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma, GED, preferred.
Trade or vocational school or equivalent, preferred.
Two (2) years of related experience, preferred.
Working knowledge and experience with OEM Diagnostic Programs, preferred.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and perform mechanical repairs on a variety of light to medium duty fleet vehicles and trailers.
Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, drive trains, emission systems, hydraulic and brake systems, electrical systems, and wheel ends.
Perform mechanical and lubrication, routine/preventative maintenance.
Perform safety and mechanical inspections of the equipment.
Keep accurate log of work performed.
Proper use of tools to complete system diagnostic and repairs including but not limited: electronics, EM, hydraulic, engine powertrain, air conditioning, clutch, suspension, transmission.
Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
Perform other duties as required.
Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
