Requirements

  • One (1) year experience in Light Duty Equipment mechanical/maintenance or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance
  • Knowledge of basic electrical
  • Ability to read and use schematics.
  • Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude.
  • The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or GED
  • ASE certifications
  • Knowledge and ability to use various computer aided diagnostic tools
  • Experience in automotive and equipment maintenance
  • Forklift and equipment operator experience
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and diagnostics

Responsibilities

  • Assists with and performs diagnostic, replacement and repairs on, but not limited to: engines, transmissions and transaxles, manual drive train and axles, suspension, steering, brakes, clutches, AC units and electric motors.
  • Performs mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance to include: oil and lube service, coolant system flush, transmissions services, filter and gasket checks, checking of water pumps, thermostats, belts, radiator hoses and clutch fans.
  • May be required to perform welding tasks, such as: Carbon Arc and MIG.
  • May operate equipment such as: forklifts, cranes, and small mobile equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining Work Orders, a clean and safe work area and performing work area inspections.
  • Perform other duties as required.
