Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in Crane, Lifting and Rigging Operations.
  • Knowledge of periodic inspection requirements for cranes, rigging and lifting fixtures.
  • Knowledgeable of crane and rigging requirements and techniques, ability and desire to provide crane and rigging training with an established syllabus.
  • Previous industry experience along with lifting and rigging experience.
  • Work with a "Safety Focus" and participate in safety awareness and improvements.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Working knowledge of Soluminia, ETQ and SAP or the willingness to learn.
  • Knowledgeable in a variety of manufacturing methods and processes.
  • Ability to drive and implement improvements, new methods, or standards, lead change, interface with all departments and levels throughout a manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience and insight.
  • Self-motivated & self starter.
  • Ability to be flexible and work on multiple projects/assignments.
  • Ability to develop concepts into workable production devices, tools, fixtures, etc.
  • Must be attentive to details and function well in an environment where quality is a fundamental of the business.
  • Willingness to obtain NCCCO crane and rigging certification if not already certified.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification(s) from training institutes, providers, or nationally recognized organizations are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with evaluating lifting, rigging & handling practices, methods and issues.
  • Provides lifting & handling insight and support in a production environment.
  • Works with a "Safety Focus" and participates in safety awareness and improvements.
  • Assists with reviews of drawing, procedures, purchase requisitions, tool requests and change reviews.
  • Engages with employees across the facility, vendors, suppliers, and other BWXT sites.
  • Provides Crane & Rigging Training with planning and preparation for those classes.
  • Provides technical support to personnel and production areas with lifting and rigging issues or questions.
  • Creates and updates documentation in support of lifting and handling training, communications, projects and issues.
  • Supports improvements, new methods and/or standards.
  • Develops workable production devices, tools, fixtures, etc. from concepts.
  • Lead teams and be a lifting and handling resource to the facility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
