About The Position

Seabrook Solutions is seeking an experienced Lifting Devices Engineer to provide technical support to NASA facilities located at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). MSFC facilities house a broad range of technical, program management and administrative functions that directly support NASA’s mission. Maintaining functionality while being highly adaptable to the ever-changing research and development environment is paramount to the success of the nation’s space exploration vision. Engineers work closely with operational units to assure efficiency and reliability in critical systems. Position Description: Serve as Lifting Devices Engineer with technical responsibility for planning and overseeing maintenance, repair, modifications, installation and certification of lifting equipment such as cranes, hoists, derricks, and elevators. Position will provide support to Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) Facilities Operations and Maintenance Support Services II (FOMSS II) contract.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related scientific field
  • At least 10 years of job-related experience.
  • Excellent communications and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a range of design development, analysis, or review tasks independently.
  • Responsible for development/review/implementation of all lifting procedures required under on the contract.
  • Generate complete design specifications for the most complex projects.
  • May train other engineers on technical issues related to the research, design, development, testing and analysis of engineering assignments.
  • Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status.
  • Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.
  • Direct interface and liaison with internal and external customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.
  • Conduct site visits and experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations.
  • Responsible for review and correction of any errors or discrepancies in reports such as: Annual Crane and Hoist Inspection Reports, Annual Elevator Inspection Reports, and the Five Year Elevator Inspection Reports prior to submission to the Government.
  • Prepare, deliver and submit technical papers and perform engineering studies.
  • Support development of technical proposal and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.
  • May organize and supervise a group of employees for a given project, contract or job with overall responsibility for cost, schedule, technical and employee performance.
  • Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment. As appropriate, each employee is responsible for completing all training requirements and fulfilling all self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities, participating in emergency response tasks and serving on safety committees and teams.
