About The Position

This role involves working under the guidance of a qualified technician in the disassembly, repair, re-assembly, and testing of components. The technician will repair or replace defective parts on machinery/equipment, ensuring maximum parts are reused to control repair costs. Responsibilities include preparing parts requisitions, time cards, and service reports, demonstrating the use of dealer computer systems for work orders, and maintaining a required set of tools. The position requires working in a neat, orderly, and safe manner, caring for and maintaining company machines/equipment, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Formal Education: High School diploma or GED
  • Experience: 1-2 years
  • Able to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.
  • Must have completed standards outlined in the personnel achievement guideline or have been determined to meet the same qualification by the lead person based on division location.
  • Job requirements occasionally change requiring re-training to stay current every 3-5 years.
  • Job requires basic problem solving ability using established examples / guidance.
  • Job requires some creativity to generate solutions or improve effectiveness within well-established boundaries.
  • Job is closely monitored and allows for no significant discretion or independence in scheduling or methods of completing assigned work.

Responsibilities

  • Works under the guidance of a qualified shop or field service technician in the disassembly, repair, re-assembly and test of components.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts on machinery/equipment.
  • Disassembles components and properly clean parts.
  • Inspects components to ensure maximum parts are being reused to control repair costs.
  • Prepares all parts requisitions, time cards, or service reports, as requested by the supervisor.
  • Ensures that parts requisitions, time cards, or service reports are legible and accurate with sufficient detail for service accounting needs.
  • Demonstrates utilization of dealer computer systems for work orders and other documentation.
  • Maintains a minimum set of tools required for job performance.
  • Works in a neat, orderly, and safe manner while caring for and maintaining company machines/equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
